I miss my wife. I’m so glad she’s coming home tonight. I’m going to wash all the dishes after work.

Been Married 10 Days, Got a Question
Guys, have you ever caught your wife just looking at you? Quietly staring, with seemingly zero emotion and not saying anything? I caught my wife doing that the other day. I was puzzled, curious and a little bit terrified. What was she thinking about?
My Perfect Spotless Righteousness
The past few months I managed to make it onto Meg’s blog more than 3 times–an awesome achievement! (considering that we’re both far from being dedicated daily bloggers). What’s more, it seems that I’ve even got my own category! I’ve the honor of being in the following posts:

This Blog Likes Pictures
While browsing my subscriptions on Google Reader I noticed I was more likely to read entries with pictures or a video attached to them. Starting last week, I’ve resolved to pique your interest with at least one exciting piece of visual stimulus per post. TheGrabbleBlog has pictures. So read it!
Speaking of pictures, Meg and I have posted some engagement photos on Flickr. Beware. It’s not for the squeamish. You know how much we like each other.
Parental Blessings
I sought the blessing of my (now)fiancee’s parents before popping the big question. And I’m so glad I did. The entire conversation was secretly recorded and you can listen to it here. Perhaps I should explain this ritual a little more, since it has of late become a less common practice. My intention was to state my intentions. The AoM website calls this ritual “Asking a Woman’s Father For Her Hand In Marriage” (a very helpful article, by the way).
Without reservation, I commend this tradition of seeking parental blessings to all men desiring the lifetime commitment of marriage. It was startling to hear myself say “I love Megan.” I didn’t expect it to be so jarring, so profound. I mean, it’s awfully easy to tell Meg that I love her. Yet I can’t put my finger down on a specific time (before the parental conversation) when I’ve told another person: “I love her.” It was an utterly new and glorious feeling. Try it. Though similar, “I love you” and “I love her” evoke different gut reactions. Nowadays this proud announcement of romantic love has a habit of quite simply rolling off my tongue. A very good thing indeed.
