TED Talk: Spoken Word

What do you think of spoken word poetry? I find it fascinating and inspiring as long as I’m not watching more than a couple of performances in a row. Watch the embedded talk by Sarah Kay; she gives a good introduction to this art form. I agreed with many of the points she made, even if some do consider spoken word an “insult to poetry” (as seen in the comments section of the video).

120 Striking Street Photos
“In 100 years, we’ll still appreciate black and white street photography. I mean, it’ll fly at our retinas at warp 9 and we’ll be tasting it via synesthetic implants, but it’ll still be in black and white.”—gizmodo.com. A link to my entry

“Philly and Back Again” by The Delusionist

Just wanted to point out that my friend The Delusionist just completed a project in the style of a radio show. He calls it “Philly and Back Again”and is a comedic, modern interpretation of Tolkien’s The Hobbit. I had the pleasure of contributing my voice to the project, as the character Gloin. Download the audio on his blog.

I’m not a fan of metal music at all but this article was very interesting. Dudes like these are so easy to “hate.” Besides being popular musicians, they have a successful design business and are coming out with a feature length documentary… What??!! They also love Jesus and go to Mars Hill…
